• extend the offence of owning or being in charge of a dog that is out of control in public to include private places

Relief that proposed injunction is to remain intact
17th of April 2013
Responding to the publication of the Government’s response to the Home Affairs Select Committee’s recommendations on the draft ASB Bill, the SLCNG has expressed satisfaction and a degree of relief, with the outcome.
SLCNG’s Managing Director, Eamon Lynch, said:
“We had serious reservations that the Committee’s recommendations for amending the Injunction to Prevent Nuisance and Annoyance would, if adopted, blunt its effectiveness. We are relieved, therefore, that the Government has seen fit to resist the Committee’s promptings to radically alter the original draft.
Overall, we are satisfied that the changes agreed to the draft Bill are sensible and workable and we will continue to work with the Home Office and others to ensure as far as possible that the new measures really do meet the needs of victims and witnesses.
What we now need is for this whole process to move on apace and we shall be eagerly awaiting the Queens Speech on 08 May to see if the legislation is to be introduced into Parliament in the next session as we expect it should.”
